ServSafe Food Safety Course Fall 2014
The ServSafe Food Safety Course is designed by theNational Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. The textbook utilized in the class incorporates the 2009 updates to the FDA Food Code, best practices, and science-based information to educate the participants. The participants can be any employee involved in food handling in any type of establishment (restaurant, hospital, nursing home, child care, residential care, lodging, summer camps, etc.). This is a comprehensive program for food service managers, supervisors, and staff.
EFFECTIVE September 1, 2012 – All full time managers or other employees responsible for operation of an establishment must have, within the last 5 years, successfully passed an approved ANSI Food Service Sanitation Program Exam such as ServSafe. Permitted Food Service Establishments that do not meet the training requirement would incur a two-point deduction on their sanitation inspection starting January 1, 2014. A credit of 2 points will no longer be given to establishments who have employees who have taken ServSafe.
