North Carolina Dental Health Program
North Carolina Dental Health Program
This program is separate from the Rockingham County Division of Public Health's Dental Clinic.
Please do NOT call this number for dental appointments.
The Dental Health Program is designed to provide needed quality services to school children and the adults who influence their health. The services in each county may vary since they are defined and implemented based on the community diagnosis of the assigned public health dental staff.
A team approach using dental public health staff from other counties is often used to deliver such services as dental sealant demonstration projects, health fairs, and assessment surveys. Local programs are coordinated by the public health dental hygienist assigned by the NC Division of Public Health.
Other program components are:
- education
- plaque control
- community health promotion activities
- fluoride mouth rinse
- dental health services including screening, referral and follow-up services
